Classes (classes)

Identity and a technique grammar, with advancement that feels like MapleStory's job tiers, without role locks.

The rules

  1. Six base Classes, chosen at the end of the Margin: Blade, Bow, Shield, Fist, Runewright, Singer. Each is a grammar: the technique tags it can lead with, its Focus behavior, and its Mastery Tree (SYS-15).
  2. Four class tiers at stratum thresholds. Tier 1 (Margin): the Class. Tier 2 · Advanced Class (Seal 10): one of three per class (Blade: Hewer, Duelist, Ward). Tier 3 · Specialization (Seal 20): one of two per Advanced Class. Tier 4 · Title (Seal 30): a Title only you hold, registered in the Ledger ("the Blade of Kestrel Reach"), with one signature technique authored through Marginalia.
  3. Second Class (Seal 15, after a Trial): techniques from two grammars; cross-Class tag chains get a +10% "cross-class" bonus and the second Class's Focus rule applies at half strength. Any pair is legal.
  4. Classes never gate gear, weapons, stances, or roles. A Singer in Edge stance with a two-hander is a Singer who hits hard and sings between swings.
  5. Weapon skills (SYS-06 combat skills) level for everyone; the Class only determines which skill's techniques carry your grammar's lead tags.
